Danger Living Hypertension

Our Blood Pressure changes through out the day, rising and falling and adapting to different situations. It is when our Blood Pressure is consistantly high that we are at danger of Hypertension and what it can do to our body.
So that does not mean you have High Blood Pressure, it is when a Doctor tests your BP and it is higher than normal for no real reason. Now as a side note, your BP can rise in anticipation of seeing the Doctor, so your BP may show higher than it really would be if you weren’t in the Doctors office.
If your BP is higher than normal then your Doctor should test it regularly over the next month. If your BP is high at every test the Doctor does then that means you may have Hypertension and the Doctor will discuss with you what your options are to get your BP back to normal.
Before your Doctor prescribes any medication, you should be given the option to make some healthy changes to your lifestyle. There are things you can change in your lifestyle that could bring your BP down back to normal, which means there will be no need for medication.
But if I were to take note of what somebody recently wrote on a popular website, then I would not believe any of what I have written. Apparently if there is no reason to be found as to why your BP is consistently high then that would your Normal BP. As for medication they will not make the slightest bit of difference in bringing your BP down.
Would you believe a Pharmacist wrote that and something I found very weird is that he hates the companies that make the drugs. I believe that more drugs are dished out than need be and why is that, probably because of the amount of money involved.
I don’t agree with the fact that if a reason can’t be found for having Blood pressure Higher than the normal range then it is the right pressure for you. I find that complete madness and I hope that anybody who reads his article does not take that as gospel.
If you are Hypertensive and you can’t get your Blood Pressure back to normal naturally, then it will need treating. If it is not treated then you could suffer from a stroke or heart attack or problems with your kidneys. Get Hypertension sorted.

Toned Abs, Nicer Clothes To Wear In Bucks County

The fast-food culture people in the Western countries have combined with the hectic schedules that leave little room for daily exercise are causing more and more people to fall victim to obesity. Recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention puts the percentage of overweight Americans at 66% and almost half that number already obese.
Life as we know it today is indeed on a faster track and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find time to work-out the extra calories we get from the fast, convenient but high-calorie food we dine on. As a result, a lot of folks are forced to wear loose slacks with elastic waists- not really considered avante garde in these times.
Keeping our weight down through constant exercise is the fastest way to trim the inches around our bellies and fit in those favorite pair of denims exiled deep in our closet. True that maintaining a regular workout regimen seems impossible with our hectic schedules, but with the myriad of benefits we get through regular exercise it’s ridiculous not to.
Regular exercise not only gives us the obvious benefits of toned abs and a lighter, better-looking physique. Making it a point to work-out everyday lowers blood pressure and significantly lowers the risk of cancer, diabetes, and hypertension while boosting our immune system.
Making it a point to exercise everyday also does wonders for our demeanor as it promotes the release of endorphins- chemicals which give us a feeling of being content or even happy. Exercising then goes beyond physical gains and even relieves us of pent-up stress, making us feel better about life.
A well-defined, nicely toned abdomen, confidence, and a happy life- all this just by squeezing in a workout session into your daily itinerary. Folks that have hectic schedules need not worry as there are ways to intensify cardio and anaerobic workouts and shorten exercise time.
True that moderate cardio exercises are the best for isolating body fat, but these have to be done for lengthy periods (1-2 hours) in order to use-up enough calories to lose weight. High intensity interval training and modified weight-training done on an unstable surface may be the perfect exercise scheme for overweight folks with hectic schedules.
Kicking-off an aerobic routine by doing it at a high intensity (90% of the maximum heart rate) will immediately boost the metabolism and facilitate immediate body fat burn. Shortening the periods of rest in between sets in a weightlifting session will also increase cardiovascular intensity and let you burn more calories while training for strength and muscle. The glycogen stores depleted by doing high intensity exercises can be easily replenished by eating the right foods after your workouts, so you can reap the benefits of lengthy cardio sessions in half the time.
Langhorne Fat Loss Exercise – Program Analysis

The program design of a fat loss exercise program need to be considered. Not all exercise programs are the same; you need to find one that works for you. Weight training and interval training are great fat loss exercise techniques that will give you great results.
Sometimes we get into a routine of exercise that is really inefficient and does not get us the results that we want. It’s not necessarily “what” we do, but rather “how” we do things, that make all the difference in the world. Make sure that what you are doing is effective and not wasting your time.
Weight training not only gives you bigger muscles, but they also increase your metabolism. The resistance that we train with increases our body’s metabolic activity well after our exercise session causing the body to increase its fat burning capacity throughout the day and night.
Exercises like leg extensions, bicep curls, and hamstring curls are single joint exercises and are not very effective at burning fat. In order to burn fat effectively, focusing on multi-joint exercises will be better.
Studies confirm that low repetition weight training helps increase the body’s fat burning activity. In addition, exercises that use more joints such as, split squats, push ups, chin ups, rows, step ups, lunges, dead lifts and squats have shown to burn more calories and result in burning more body fat,
High intensity interval training is better than slow aerobic exercise. The quick burst activity have residual effects and promote metabolic activity even after the exercise session.
During interval training, the body must quickly adapt to the decreased oxygen levels in the muscles. When the body is able, it quickly brings oxygen to the muscles, to replenish, repair and remove waste products. As a result, the muscles must increase its activity and ends up using more energy and burn more body fat.
Program design needs to be assessed in order to get the fat loss exercise results that you wish. Finding the perfect program is the key to getting ripped abs. When you incorporate weight training and interval training, you will be better able to get fat loss results quicker and easier.

Are you ashamed and self-conscious by your stretch marks? Do you go out of your way to keep away from wearing swimsuits or any revealing clothing because you’re anxious people will see them and silently critic you? Well, hey, you’re not alone! 8 out of 10 women undergo from ugly, disfiguring stretch marks, and lots of men do too. If you’ve been in any of the following situations, then you possibly have some stretch marks.
A good candidate for the tummy tuck procedure is an adult who is not far from his or her ideal body weight, with an abdominal area that has not adequately responded to modification by diet and exercise.
How effective and efficient is surgery in treating stretch marks? One has to really know in depth about the method of surgery before deciding to under go surgery for the stretch mark elimination. It is better to consult a medical practitioner or a skin specialist to decide upon the surgery. When we talk about the surgical means to remove the stretch marks, there is a grand range of surgery which is suitable for different individuals.
Not all the surgical methods can be followed for all. Unfortunately, one thing has to be stated clearly here: it is known that even the surgical means can not prove cent percent stretch mark relief, though this method can give a better cure as compared with the other alternative cosmetic methods. In the tummy tuck method of surgery, the excess skin and fat under the skin would be removed leaving behind a perfect figure for you to wink at.
Tummy tuck surgery does, however, provide the patient with many benefits, including improved appearance and, in many cases, an elevated level of self confidence. While this could work in theory, there are several things a person has to consider about plastic surgery to remove stretch marks before making a commitment to go under the knife.
People often times think that because the operation is cosmetic in nature it is a less serious form of surgery, however this is not the case. All complications associated with major procedures can occur with plastic surgery as well, including infection and probable death from the incorrect use of anesthesia.
Lasik Doctors Should Not Make You Feel Nervous

Is it cheaper for someone living in the United States to go to Canada to have Lasike surgery done? Anyone who is on a budget might be trying to find a place to get it performed cheaper and yet still have a reliable doctor. Some people have gone to Canada to have Lasik done because it was somewhat cheaper but that was before the Canadian dollar got strong.
For an example lets assume you are considering lasik in Portland and you have heard that it was cheaper in Canada. Canada is about a 4 hour drive from Portland so it might be worthwhile to have it done there. However, In the past three years or so the Canadian dollar has gained on the US dollar so Lasik in Canada has gotten more expensive. After you factor in all the travel expenses becomes clear that going to Canada tfor Lasik surgery is probably not worth the drive. Also, as the technology gets better and the procedure has become refined, the price of Lasik has gone down in the US as well.
If you are looking for places to get eye surgery, your best bet is by word of mouth. There are many doctors in all the major cities and many Lasik eye surgeons as well making it very difficult to determine which doctor might be right for you. If you have friends who have had the procedure done it would be wise to ask them about their experiences. The more feedback you have about a variety of eye surgeons will better enable you to pick the one that others have felt the most comfortable with.
Although very safe, Lasik eye surgery continues to be a nerve racking experience for many people and picking the right doctor with a good bedside manner is important. Lasik eye surgery is a choice people make and by no means one that is necessary. Thus it makes no sense to have it done by someone you dont have the utmost confidence in and feel right about. Asking your friends will help steer you in the right direction in making a good choice.
Obviously, your eyesight is a very important part of the quality of your life and you should not risk it in any way. If you don’t like the first doctor you go to or the first handful, you should keep looking till you find the right one for you. There are surely many more in whatever city you live in so keep on looking till you find the one you like.
Effective Means Of Removing Deep Acne Scars
May 30, 2009 by Chris Channing
Filed under Health & Fitness
Going through acne is normal. Going through acne and having scars is somewhat out of the ordinary, and can be extremely embarrassing in future years. Getting rid of acne scars is possible through various methods, so you won’t have to cope with a face you aren’t satisfied with.
If you got out lucky, you will only have mild acne scars. You can treat mild scars by yourself if you feel confident enough. Use strategies such as sauna treatment, massage therapy, and drink plenty of water over the span of a month to see how well you improve. If you did the treatment correctly, you should start to see your face becoming more smooth.
Next up on the ladder we have chemical peels. Chemical peels, however scary they may sound, are also fairly tame. Chemical peels only take off a small layer of skin at a time, so they too take a long amount of time to get results from. Acne scars will slowly become exfoliated and disappear over time, but only mild to moderate cases of acne should investigate this approach.
Dermabrasion is the next step; dermabrasion is much more intense than previous methods. A textured and sharp surface, usually a metal bit, is rotated at high speeds to grind away the top layer of the skin. This method takes off more skin per treatment, and is a bit more harsh on the skin than some would like. You will likely experience some pain and you will notice that your face may stay red for a period of time.
Laser resurfacing is about as extreme as acne scar removal gets. A laser is used for cases in which there is a large amount of damage. Lasers can both take away the top layer of skin and harden the layers below it, making for a smooth appearance. The downside is that laser treatment is very costly, takes two weeks to recover from, and sometimes requires anesthetics in order to be conducted.
So what’s the best form of getting rid of acne scars? We can all agree that preventing the scars in the first place is the best idea. Even if you have acne that seems like it won’t go away, there are options in prescription medications that you can investigate. Some are rather tough or frightening when considering the side effects, so don’t be scared to try and wait out the acne and see if it improves by itself.
Final Thoughts
Acne treatment is available if you are currently going through a tough time- you always have options. The good news is that you aren’t alone, and that there are thousands of people around the world going through the very same thing.
The Real Story Behind Your Thyroid…Are Your Symptoms Normal?
May 29, 2009 by Penny Logan
Filed under Health & Fitness
Are you tired all the time? Do you have trouble losing that stubborn weight? What about depression? Can it be possible that you really do have thyroid issues?
Shaped like a butterfly or shield (which is why its name comes from the Greek “shield”), the thyroid is a vital part of the body’s endocrine system. It is a gland that is under the Adam’s apple and located before the trachea in the neck. The hormones it produces get moved throughout the body via the bloodstream to supply bodily tissues; these hormones include T4, or Thyroxine, and T3, or Triiodothyronine.
When a body’s thyroid hormones function properly, one’s body is able to process food correctly, converting it to energy. In addition, all food is metabolized and then must be eliminated as waste which utilizes additional energy for the conversion process. One’s thyroid is essential for numerous bodily functions, as the hormones produced are responsible for determining proper metabolism and thus can affect the growth and efficiency of other body systems. A primary example of this is the hormone calcitonin. It is produced by the thyroid gland and regulates the levels of calcium circulating in the blood. To properly produce these hormones, the body must have enough iodine and an amino acid known as tyrosine.
Over ten million women could be affected by thyroid deficiencies on a subnormal level, and be totally unaware of this condition. Women aged 35 to 55 are most affected, especially those who are perimenopausal or menopausal.
Studies have been performed by the Thyroid Foundation of America that give an estimate of the group of females that are impaired by a lowering of thyroid function at over 11 million. A considerable amount of countless females can have slight symptoms when one takes into consideration that a women may possibly have a slight deficiency in thyroid function. This condition is known as hypothyroidism and many women can have problems with this that are between the ages of 35 and 55, who are simultaneously going through the change of life which does include hormonal changes.
The hormones made by the thyroid gland are essential in controlling a person’s metabolism. That is why negative symptoms can result from its malfunction, including putting on excessive weight, lethargy, the feeling of hot flashes, anxiety, brain fogginess, and pulsating heartbeat.
When one’s metabolism runs efficiently, one can burn calories most effectively and thus lose weight or at least stay at a normal weight. The hormones produced in the thyroid are what manages this, and also the way that the body uses vitamins it gets from food. Thyroid function is so important that it affects many bodily systems, including the muscular, reproductive, circulatory, nervous, and digestive systems. Within each cell, it affects the activity of the creation of the item that produces energy in the cells. It also allows for proper use of oxygen throughout the body.
When a person suddenly gains weight, even becoming obese, it signals a reduction in their metabolism. This means that the thyroid gland has not been producing enough hormones to properly process foods and generate sufficient energy, and this condition is called hypothyroidism.
When a person has a healthy metabolism, it must mean that the hormone leptin is properly curbing hunger within their system. This hormone is regulated by thyroid function and is created out of fat cells that also maintain proper energy for use by the body. Thus, thyroid function is crucial to proper appetite and the maintenance of one’s weight. In addition, it affects their ability to awaken and rise and their energy levels throughout the day.
The condition of hypothyroidism can imitate other bodily circumstances, so it is sometimes referred to as the “great imitator” in medical circles.
When a person has the following medical symptoms, why have they been told their thyroid is normal?
* Difficulty arising in the morning along with fatigue
* Memory difficulties
* Brain befuddlement or fogginess
* Skin rashes
* Migraines
* Hot and Cold Sensitivity
* Less moisture in the facial skin and Hair depletion (occurring mainly outside of the eyebrows)
* Low spirits, primarily in those who are aged
* Tendency to panic or get anxious in normal situations
* Tendency to crave more sleep
Almost every doctor will give a woman the usual TSH and T4 tests in an attempt to determine low thyroid function. Unfortunately, these tests are not complete and most women end up being diagnosed as having normal thyroids when they do not. Usually, doctors rely on determining thyroid function from these tests since TSH comes from the brain’s pituitary gland and is what determines the secretion of T4 which is then converted to T3. This is why the drop in these two hormones should indicate hypothyroidism as a simultaneous increase in TSH occurs. Using this method will omit the diagnosis of those who do not have severe hypothyroidism, yet are low normal only. There are so many other factors that can contribute to low thyroid that a more thorough testing is necessary for a complete diagnosis.
Women might instinctual know there is something wrong with their thyroid yet not get those answers from their doctors; this can be rather frustrating. So, when thorough testing shows there is a thyroid issue, women can get some comfort knowing they are on their way to true healing and a properly functioning thyroid level.
An up-to-date medical analysis was recently cited in the Archives of Internal Medicine journal, and it suggests that those with subclinical (low normal) hypothyroidism have a higher tendency to get hardened arteries (by 70%) and heart attacks (by 200%). So many millions of women will have a lack of energy along with depression and an inability to lose pounds because of the misdiagnosis of low normal thyroid conditions. One must return to the optimum thyroid level in order to alleviate these symptoms and feel renewed energy and health.
Do not hesitate now to get your thyroid consultation, at no charge. Don’t wonder any more why you are experiencing these rough symptoms…find out the truth and get on your way to better health and a better life rather than discontentment and frustration.
